Caring For Pavers in Falls Church VA

The secret to long-lasting and beautiful brick pavers is to do the proper maintenance. Pavers are very durable, but they are suspectible to wear and damage, even from normal use.

Stains, broken pavers, weeds, and roots can cause damage to your pavers. The good thing is that just a little maintenance can stop these problems.

Paver Maintenance:

  1. Sweep paver surfaces regularly
  2. Pull any weeds you find from the joints
  3. Inspect the joints between pavers to make sure they're still filled with sand. Replace any lost sand by adding it to the surface and sweeping into place.
  4. Clean moss-stained pavers with a solution of 3/4 cup bleach and 1 gallon of water and allow it to soak for 10-15 minutes. Scrub the pavers after soaking to remove any stains. Avoid getting bleach on the lawn.
  5. You can use paver brick sealer to minimize moss growth and stains. Use a couple of thin coats. Be sure to let the sealer dry between coats. Pavers may need to be resealed every couple of years.
  6. Broken pavers can be replaced. Add sand as needed and tap the brick into position.
  7. Pavers can be releveled by adding sand under them.
